Raoul Ascari
Chairman
Mr. Ascari was Chief Operating Officer of SACE S.p.A, the Italian Export Credit Agency. He joined SACE in 2000 where he Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of the SACE BT subsidiary. Between 2006 and 2009, Mr. Ascari served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Berne Union Medium-long Term Committee. Prior to joining SACE, Mr. Ascari worked for FIAT USA where he held the position of Vice President for International Finance and Head of the Washington DC FIAT office. His previous experience also includes the World Bank, where he worked in the East Africa Region as Advisor to the Italian Executive Director and Member of the Board. Mr. Ascari holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bologna and completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Bradford (UK). He teaches postgraduate courses in Economic Development and African Affairs at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
Mr. Fanelli has more than 20 years of experience in the export credit insurance business. He was responsible for the “New Frontiers – Africa Program” in SACE until June 2016 and previously Head of SACE’s Office in Johannesburg competent for SACE’s activity in 49 countries. Earlier he headed up SACE’s Kenya desk in Nairobi at the African Trade Insurance Agency. Before moving to Africa, he was the Head of the Bank Risk Assessment and Monitoring Team, and he headed the Group’s domestic network of SACE’s credit and risk analysis department in Rome.
Riccardo Fanelli

Mr. Traietti worked for SACE S.p.A. from 2009 to 2017, first as Political Risk Insurance Underwriter, and later as an Account Manager at the SACE Branch in Modena from 2011, then as Head of East Africa in Nairobi from 2015. He wrote several articles for the specialized press about African markets, including the Italian magazine Limes. He holds an MBA from the Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Rome “Roma Tre”.
Joined ITARE in 2019 where he is focusing on trade and export finance. Previously, he held the position of Head of Treasury at N.F. FOOD S.p.A., a leading Italian company in the HO.RE.CA sector, where he gained experience in cash flow and liquidity management. He holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelors’ degree in Business Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).

Enzo Crucco

Mr. Crucco is an Architect and Civil Engineer with more than 30-year experience in the construction sector worldwide. He has been Regional Manager in charge of the Far East and then of the Middle East regions for some major Italian contractors. Previous positions include Country Manager, Project Manager, Chief Engineer, and Construction Supervisor in Africa, Asia, and Middle East countries. As Project Manager, he was responsible for the management of notable large projects, including the Casecnan HPPs in the Philippines (with more than 3,000 workers of 11 nationalities), the Theun Hinboun Dam in Laos, the Jamal Abdul Nasser Highway in Kuwait, and the Penchala Tunnel in KL, Malaysia in the field of infrastructure; the Burj al Fateh Tower in Khartoum, Sudan and the International Expo Fiera di Milano al Portello in Italy in the field of civil works.
Joined ITARE in 2020, after having served in the sister company Concrete Finance since 2018, where he focused on large infrastructure projects. Before that, he worked in the advisory practice of PwC as a management consultant, focusing on banking and capital markets. He gained experience in export credit, structured trade finance, and corporate finance as a Junior Account & Policy Underwriter at SACE. He holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelors’ degree in Business Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).

Mr. Gazzetti was Head of Treasury at N.F. FOOD Groupe in Modena (Italy). In this role he gained experience in cash flow and liquidity management. He attended a post-graduated specialization course in Corporate Treasury Management and obtained a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).

Judith Bigisa Oenga

She has been Project Manager at UN OPS Nairobi Headquarter from 2016 to 2019, coordinating climate change and women empowerment programs Previously, she performed market research at IPSOS, serving at Nairobi and Johannesburg offices with responsibility for Eastern and Southern Africa. Mrs. Bigisa holds a Bachelor in Business Administration form the Jomo Kenyatta University of Nairobi. She is a Kenyan national.
Joined ITARE in 2018, he is based in Dakar, Senegal. He has held business development and project management roles with Total, China State Construction and Engineering Corporation, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd and others international companies in the construction and in the power sector in Senegal. Previously, he was research engineer at the National Institution for Aviation Research (NIAR) in Wichita (USA). He holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Wichita State University, Kansas (USA).

Mr. Dago is in charge of institutional relations for Francophone Africa at ITARE. He is also Professor at the Universities of Sassari and “La Sapienza” University in Rome. He was Co-ordinator of the Italian Breeders Association, FAO Consultant and founder of FESASS (European Federation for Animal Health and Health Security). Mr. Dago is an Italian and Ivorian national.
Based in Accra, Ghana. He has multiannual experience in Business Development and internazionalization, with a focus on automotive, construction, manufacturing, and agribusiness. He graduated in Business from the University of Ghana and completed an MBA at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Marvin Murimi Waweru
Kenya Representative
Based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has a background in marketing, business development, and engineering, with a focus in manufacturing and agribusiness. Before joining ITARE, he has conducted research studies both quantitative and qualitative for FAO under women empowerment projects and other agribusiness focus group projects. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi in 2021. His physical presence in Kenya aims to support ITARE partners in develop business in the field as well as assessing the potential clients and evaluating the projects in the region.
Based in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Mr. Tematio is a construction sector professional with multiannual experience and exposure to the international infrastructure markets (Africa, Europe and CIS). He completed its engineering studies at the “Ecole Polytechnique de l’Université d’Orléans” (France) after obtaining a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padova (Italy); has also holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi (Italy).
